Hi! My name is Gemma and I have worked at Cera Wiltshire for 8 years. I started working as a Care Worker and progressed through the ranks to become Branch Manager. In this time, I have taken a lot of pleasure in developing my knowledge and gaining qualifications in health and social care. I thoroughly enjoyed working as a Care Worker, meeting clients and helping them. When the opportunity came, I applied and became a Visiting Officer, writing care plans for clients, ensuring they were able to manage and that all their needs were cared for. From there I became a Branch Manager 5 years ago.
I have found working in health and social care to be immensely rewarding as you get to meet lots of people from all walks of life and help them to live their best life. You also get to help and support families when they are going through hard times. I have lots of favourite memories from the years working in care and have met some fantastic people. I love seeing Care Workers grow in confidence and enjoy learning new skills. You have to undertake lots of thinking outside of the box to problem solve in this industry. Care is very much about working as a team but also independently which gives you the best of both worlds in your job. Answering the question, ‘What makes a great care worker?’ is hard as it takes all sorts to make a family, but being kind and caring is a good start. The best thing about working at Cera Wiltshire is that we all help each other and support is always on hand.
Let’s recruit together and find your next colleague.
